When a friend loses their cat, we want to help. But sometimes, our well-meaning words can sting.
Please Don't Say:
- "At least they didn't suffer." (True, but doesn't fix the pain.)
- "You can always get another one." (They aren't replaceable.)
- "It was just an animal." (Ouch.)
Instead, Try Saying:
- "I know how much you loved them."
- "They were so lucky to have you as a mom."
- "I'm praying for peace for your heart."
A Small Gift Goes a Long Way
A card or a small keepsake shows you validate their loss. Consider sending them a memorial canvas or simply dropping off a coffee.
Just showing up is enough. You don't need perfect words—you just need a willing heart.
